I was commissioned to design a collection of custom Catholic stickers and bookmarks that were included in the welcome gift bags for more than 5,000 attendees at the Rising From the Ashes Revival, a Catholic Eucharistic Revival held at Huntington Place in Detroit on July 22, 2026. The full-day event gathered thousands of faithful for inspiring speakers, live music, Eucharistic Adoration, and a public witness of faith in the heart of Detroit.
The collection celebrates saints and historical figures deeply connected to the city of Detroit. I illustrated St. Anne, the patroness of Detroit; Father Gabriel Richard, the beloved priest who coined the city's motto after the devastating fire of 1805; and Blessed Solanus Casey, the humble Capuchin priest from Detroit whose cause for canonization continues to inspire Catholics around the world.
Father Gabriel Richard's famous motto, "Speramus meliora; resurget cineribus," translates to "We hope for better things; it will rise from the ashes." His words became the official motto of the City of Detroit and perfectly reflect the theme of the revival—renewal through Christ and hope born from adversity.
